About Us

Originally from Western Pennsylvania, James and Ashley discovered Snowshoe in 2018 and haven't looked back. After becoming full time residents on the Mountain in 2021, they founded Ridgeback Retreats to help others channel their inner wanderlust. Their focus and passion for the outdoors began long before moving to Snowshoe. Both enjoy Skiing, Mountain Biking, Hiking and virtually any travel that includes mountains, lakes or rivers. Most importantly, we loved to travel with our Rhodesian Ridgeback mix, Tempe! Tempe embodies the spirit of Ridgeback Retreats and always longs to be out in the wild.
